3. How to play

Donkey Kong has captured "Lady" and escaped to a building that's in construction. In order to rescue Lady, Mario enters the building as well. However, Donkey Kong has set up obstacles to keep you from getting near. So, will Mario be able to help her?...

(Caption) Mario, Lady, Donkey Kong, Barrel, Obstacle, Jack

Mario's aim is?...
...to help out Lady, who has been captured by Donkey Kong.

* In the first and second stages, Lady is located in the upper portion of the screen. The goal is to make your way to her.

* The third stage will have you walking around the steel frames, removing the bolts connecting them. Once you're finished removing all the bolts, the structure's support will be lost and will crumble towards the ground. This will send Donkey Kong falling down, head first!

Technique...Jumping is effective!

* You're able to jump left, upwards or right. While pressing the directional button towards where you wish to go, press the jump button.

* You can not jump while on a ladder, nor can you jump on to it.

* The jump length that you can reach is equivalent to 2 sections of steel beams. Speed is the same as Mario's stride on foot.

* Descending jumps.
Mario is able to jump down the height of 2 sections of steel beams, the same length as his body.

Score

* Picking up items that Lady drops (Parasols, Bags) will raise your score.

* Bonus Point
Reaching the location of Lady will yield you bonus points which are added to your score.

* Wasting time will gradually decrease your bonus points. If they decline completely, you'll get a time over and Mario will be down as a result.

* The invincible hammer
You can smash barrels and obstacles (enemies) to get more points.

* Jump
Skilfully leap over the barrels to raise your points.

Extra Score
If your score passes 20000, another Mario will be added to your remaining lives.

About Misses...
When you're hit by a barrel, obstacle, bouncing jack, or mistakingly fall from a steel beam, you'll get a miss. If a miss occurs, Mario will lose a life. Also, if Mario loses them all, it's game over.

About the Loop Count...
Helping Lady escape by clearing screen 3 will count as the completion of one loop. After that, please challenge yourself to the second loop. The enemy count will gradually increase, as will the speed. Besides competing with others for a high score, you can compete for the highest loop count.
