3. How to Play

From the pipes, Mr. Turtle, Mr. Crab and the fly monster, Fighter Fly emerge one after another. Please exterminate the enemies by punching them from below, flipping them over and then kicking them off the level. There are also other traps to deal with, such as the attacks of fireballs and freezes.

* In this game, you'll only use Mario when one person is playing. During 2 player, Luigi will also appear on the same screen.

"Buddy Style" - 2 people cooperate

- One person can flip the enemies over, while the other waits to kick them off. You can quickly progress through the game this way, expecting to obtain a high score as well. This way of playing is ideal for players who synchronize well.

"Rival Style"
This is where you'll cause trouble and be mean to one another. Right before your opponent knocks out an overturned enemy, you can punch them from below, returning the enemy to its normal stage and inviting a loss of life for your rival. Also, you can punch your opponent from below to send them flying towards an enemy, or push them towards an enemy as well. When you're being pushed, please jump to get away.

Appearing characters

Mario, Luigi (Shows up during 2 player), Mr. Turtle, Mr. Crab, Fighter Fly, Fireball, Freeze, Coin

The objective?
In this game, enemies emerge from the pipes and you'll go on to punch, flip them over and kick them away. If you knock them over, for awhile they'll lay there motionless. But, after a certain amount of time has passed, they'll get back up, their speed increased and their attacks made more nimble.

Techniques

Turtle - One punch and they're down.
Crab - One punch will have him running mad. The second shot will put him on his back.
Fighter Fly - Aim to punch right where he lands. One shot will do the job.

Warning: If you punch an overturned enemy and flip them back, or allow them to get up on their own, they'll speed up. Also, the final enemy will move around faster.

Pursuing attack - Send the enemy falling down a level.
Direct Hit - Keep striking and they'll be immobilized.
Frontal attack - For crabs, this method will send them going backwards.

* If you punch the power floor, the enemies over the all floors will be turned over. However, since you're indeed flipping them, pay special attention to their recovery. Also, fireballs will be erased.

Warning: If you punch the power floor 3 times, it will be gone.

* It seems the freeze enemy can ice up the floor. If the floor has been frozen up, you may slip and it will become quite hard to stop. Please hurry up and punch freeze to smash him up!

* You can pass between the left and right of the screen.

 Score

* Grab Coins
After you knock away enemies, coins will come out from the pipes. Pick them up to increase your points!

* Eliminate Fireballs
When the fireball is tracking near the floor, punch it for a high score. Warning: Red fireballs will come back with a greater strength, so be careful!

* Consecutive Knockouts
If you perform consecutive knockouts on an enemy, you'll get a special high score!

* Test Your Skill
Grab all the coins within the time limit and you won't just get a coin score, but a PERFECT SCORE as well!
Extra Score... If your score exceeds 20,000 points, Mario (Or Luigi) will receive another life.

Regarding Misses...When you're hit by an enemy, fireball or freeze, you'll get a miss. A miss will result in the loss of one life. If you run out of lives, it's game over.

About the phase number...each time the screen changes, the phase number will be displayed on the lower left of the TV screen. You can compete for both the high score and also the highest phase number.
